There are position: properties in CSS. It has 5 parameters:

static, relative, absolute, sticky, ----------------- fixed

https://i.imgur.com/FgpzWgZ.png

in this picture, we see 80% of the CSS, related to position: . Mozilla, where is the other 20% ?
This one line sums up the whole problem of MDN.Mozilla :)

On the page https://developer.mozilla.org/ru/docs/Web/CSS/position

we see only 4 parameters. I have a natural desire to improve the Help on Mozilla. I just suggested on GitHub to supplement this property:

https://github.com/mdn/content/issues/35232

Of course, both Mozilla and Github like to hide the truth. Good censorship always benefits healthy sleep. You can continue to lie on the bed, do nothing, and only receive a salary from the sales department. For what? For the title of moderator. For having a lock button for those who tell the inconvenient truth. I don't see any other merit here.

That's why you don't see this important discussion -- censorship. Banned since the time of Ancient Rome, where it was invented, defined and banned. I.e. censored censorship itself :)

I am here to fight censorship. I'll copy it to an open REDDIT , that doesn't know this word :)

The interactive examples at the top of the page are not meant to be an extensive list of all the possible values of a CSS property, just a few examples to demonstrate the property in general. Additionally, it was decided that the fixed value was not needed in the interactive example; see mdn/interactive-examples#1900.

I wonder who made this one-man decision that prevents the entire global community from learning CSS.

Sorry if a decision from lots of discussion across lots of time with lots of folks is not what you were hoping, but I fail to see how it "prevents [...] learning CSS" when the information is available on the webpage, and you just have to...you know...scroll down. Please be respectful when writing comments, as per the Mozilla Community Participation Guidelines.

Illustrative examples are important. Especially when only 20% is enough to complete the presentation. As a member of the Mozilla community, I would prefer to see scrolling and all 10-15 options for any properties there. And scrolling is not an excuse. More like stupidity.

Код:
scrollbar-width: none;
overflow: auto;

The phrase "a large number of people " means one thing . There are no such people, as there was no discussion itself. It's obvious. I have often come across the opinion " is not necessary to go to Mozilla at all. All the knowledge is not there. " This is your merit. But you have a very stylish screen with max-width: 1000px. When people already have 4K monitors . There is no place to post examples here. They are not needed. The design of a blank page is much more important.scrollbar-width: none; overflow: auto;

I'm locking this thread because you are continuing to be disrespectful. Please note that continued violation of the community guidelines may result in removal from participation in MDN projects.

Mozilla, finish 20% !

and I will never visit your page again. At least until you fire these three bums. Who decided to trim the CSS itself, because it does not know that scrolling can be hidden in the same CSS. And at the same time remove these crazy fancy padding 2 cm in size, even on the phone screen.

The answer comes -- the issue is immediately closed, and this is not planned.

A short search shows that these questions on the addition are fixed. For a long time, at least 3 years, maybe earlier:

https://github.com/mdn/interactive-examples/issues/1900

And all of them lead to nothing. There is some kind of lengthy discussion. Mozilla employees spend many letters of text, paid time of the Mozilla company to explain their position by the fact that the presence of scrolling (!) stops them from posting the full version of these properties.

This is my SPAM on CSS-page:

That is, imagine that you want to gain knowledge, but you will not be able to do this, because the font, width or color of the scrolling did not please some small Mozilla editors who did not even develop this site, and these CSS properties. They just monitor the lack of scrolling. It's funny that we're talking about one line! On the page in the example, it would take up about 2 cm! The explanation of why it wasn't done takes up much more space. You can even calculate that while the employee was writing this text "Why I didn't do this," he probably received at least $100 from Mozilla for this refusal.

Look how clearly I link the responsibility of Mozilla employees for their actions.

I know how everyone is afraid of responsibility, and even more so, publicity for their actions!

You can make up a name for yourself from numbers, from signs, turn them upside down. Or choose a nickname that doesn't contain a single letter from your real name. And yet this doesn't stop them from protecting their fictitious nickname, by which no one can restore either their real name, or their address, or their phone number, or their email, or the names of their wife and children, or anything. But nevertheless, for this meaningless set of letters, they will block everyone. All with exactly the same made-up nicknames 😊

It's a shame that this already contagious strategy is used by GitHub employees. They also considered me a spammer. Although I suspect that I know CSS better than GitHub employees. It's logical. They didn't find anything reasonable in my text. They see SPAM everywhere (think less about stew, more about CSS). That is, I can just as easily shift the responsibility for these destructive actions to GitHub moderators. And all the participants in this stupid story over one line. And me, of course. If you search easily, you can even find my real name. Some kind of contagious paranoia that cannot be explained by any adult.

I could still understand if it was about adding 15 more properties to the 4 existing ones. In a limited area. No. We are talking about an additional 20% to a full 100%. It's beautiful to have complete information on the page. And responsible to the world community.

As a result, what we see is that my question is blocked. I tried to continue the discussion in the previous question of 2021. It was also blocked.

Just imagine how ready they are to sacrifice the truth, the value of knowledge for the sake of their ambitions. The main thing is to shut me up. And they are not interested in having complete knowledge on the Mozilla page.

Yes, I cannot call myself tolerant. And especially when I am faced with such inaction. Not adding a single line in 3 years. Moreover, there is no need to draw complex examples. You know how it works. Their job is to specify one line, set it to position: fixed , and that's it. Then the browser and CSS will do everything itself. That is, even for a student, this is about 15 minutes of work.

I understand all this, but from them I see only blocking, refusals and also support for each other. They blocked both topics, me. And they did not fix the topic by CSS, but supported each other. Can you imagine, over such a trifle!

For me, this issue is fundamental, because people are clearly in the wrong place. They get paid for the fact that half the planet is deprived of complete knowledge. Such people are more interested in their ambitions, they cover for each other. And they didn’t even hint in conversations with each other “maybe it’s worth adding to the page?”

I’m even ready to offer 2 solutions. Which I did on the GitHub page. I showed that scrolling is not so harmful, it can be disabled with 2 lines. Which are known to everyone. And which are easily found outside the Mozilla site. That is, it doesn’t look like I’m a spammer. I offer CSS properties on a page dedicated to CSS.

This strategy of secrecy and concealment leads to the fact that complete irresponsibility reigns everywhere. It’s everywhere. Employees who are in responsible positions can do all sorts of wild things. Keeping their meaningless nicknames secret is considered normal everywhere. Mentioning someone is scarier than showing their passport. They can block everyone based on their own beliefs. Even if I tell the 100% truth, but it concerns the personality of the moderator, the truth will be deleted.

This is not normal. I just suggested adding to the knowledge of CSS and I was not the first. According to my estimates, I am already about 3, who suggested to supplement this page.

You will probably think that there is some stupidity with examples - read the text below, everything is written there about fixed. I declare to you that not everything is written on Mozilla! This once again proves that the knowledge is incomplete. Not only without this dangerous one line, but also in the text explanation, where everything should be. Quite a serious part of knowledge is missing there. I can show with an example that CSS does not work as stated on the Mozilla page. The employees should have at least shown interest, set deadlines. Or at least inquired what else I am ready to offer. I repeat, in addition to this unfortunate line, a serious part of knowledge is missing there.

Of course, for the sake of fairness, I am ready to remain blocked wherever possible, but I want this topic to reach the Mozilla management. These employees should have been suspended from work, or given a less responsible position. Because adults can no longer be re-educated. If they act like this now, all their further work comes down to inaction, to getting a salary, blocking those who disagree. And ultimately, adults never change their behavior. It is easier for them to find another job. As a result, the knowledge collected on the Mozilla page suffers.

In general, I showed, in brief, the idea itself. For those who know the basics of CSS, there is no secret here, everything is clear from the first time. I know how Reddit itself treats moderation. If this topic lives more than 3 days, then I will supplement it with examples, pictures, links.
